This week for TWT I wanted to hare a Thanksgiving photo but found out that I rarely took photos on Thanksgiving. Guess all the cooking preoccupied me! Jenn hosts us every Tuesday and we share family photos and tell our stories..
This is 1997 in our house in Bellevue, Washington. When we moved there I had a lot of work to do on the house, all kinds of wall paper that needed to be taken down, carpets and paint needed to be replaced. Believe it or not the entire house was baby blue and pink!!
It took a while. Finally I finished the messy stuff and bought a dining room set. I think this might have been one of the first times we used it. It was just the 5 of us this particular Thanksgiving - though I didn't get a photo of all of us, I did manage to catch Maggie and Zac putting things on the table just before we sat down to eat.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and remember to take pictures!!

TIME WARP TUESDAY
Last weekend Tom and I had dinner with my two sisters who live locally and their husbands. We went to our favorite local place, Lokanta, and had lots of drinks and a fine dinner. We were not ready to call it a night so we wandered down to a local joint which has live music every weekend. Local bands who play music from the 80's and 90's for the most part - not necessarily that great but very dance worthy.
Well, we "Bradbury" girls had a ball. We danced ourselves into stiff hips and achy knees and went back for more.
So this week on Time Warp Tuesday, I m sharing an oldie picture of my siblings including my sisters of the dance floor - Nancy and Polly. Because in the long run - your siblings can end up being your best friends...not to mention the people you can let your hair down with - or in our case, shake your booty with!

TIME WARP TUESDAY
Time Warp Tuesday has been getting by me - but I am right on top of the upcoming holiday with this Halloween photo from 1990. I made the costumes for Maggie and Zac and it looks like they were pretty happy!

TIME WARP TUESDAY
It's been a while since I have played along with Jenn's Time Warp Tuesday. Check in to see who else is sharing family photos and the stories behind them.
This was taken 29 years ago on our wedding day. We had a late afternoon outdoor ceremony and a cocktail party style reception on the patio of a restaurant.
When we finally remembered to cut the cake it was getting dark! It was a small, inexpensive wedding with no wedding planner to keep things on schedule. My mom made my dress, a neighbor made the cake, my sister's friend was the photographer. I asked for no chrysanthemums in my bouquet - as you can see my request was not honored!! No Pinterest fantasies in sight - but it took!

TIME WARP TUESDAY
It's Tuesday again - let's do the Time Warp! Hosted by Jenn this is the chance to share our family photos and stories. Check into see who else is playing along.
This is Ally on the occasion of her 9th birthday. She and Hilda are sporting festive Cinderella birthday hats and not so thrilled expressions. This, in part, because we made the mistake of inviting my sister and her family to celebrate with us since her cousin Isabel shares her birthday. Isabel is a few years younger and didn't mind sharing her party, but we never made that mistake again as Ally likes her birthday to herself.
Ally is 20 today - no longer a teenager, and, I suspect, not wearing a festive hat!
This photo is not a time warp but one taken a few weeks ago when we were in Idaho. Isn't she a pretty birthday girl?

TIME WARP TUESDAY
Time Warp Tuesday again - Hosted by Jenn this is an opportunity to share our family photos and stories behind them. Check in to see who else is playing along this week.
Summer is winding down and I will finish my Time Warp Tuesday summer posts with a photo I captured at the beach in Santa Cruz about 13 years ago. Tom and Zac were studying the waves and discussing how to use his new boogie board. I love this father son moment.

TIME WARP TUESDAY
Time Warp Tuesday - the summer edition...Hosted by Jenn, we share our family photos and tell the stories behind them every Tuesday!
This week I am going back to 2003 - the last year Maggie played on the traveling softball team. The girls made it to 3rd place in the Western Nationals and we went to New Mexico for the tournament.
A couple of these girls went on to play softball in college and one - the girl on the lower left plays on the US National Team!
We spent not only the regular season with most of these girls and their families and 4 long hot summers going from tournament to tournament. We got very organized and pretty close.
We supplied about a ton of sunflower seeds, tootsie pops and red vines. Gallons of sunscreen, hand sanitizer and a fleet of coolers full of snacks and water. I always had Advil to spare and we were lucky that there were some other little sister for Ally to pal around with. They were memorable summers and everytime I pass the sports park it gets me to reminiscing.

TIME WARP TUESDAY
Back for Time Warp Tuesday - still tired from the trip and the 50 hours I put in at work since then trying to catch up!! Check in with our hostess, Jenn at Juggling Life, to see who else is playing this week!
The last time we got the whole clan together in the summer was in Tahoe in 2000. I am sharing a couple of those snaps with one from this summer. I am one of 5 children and we have had 14 kids between us - now ranging in age from 31 to 12! We had 11 of the 14 in attendance for the family party!
Some of the kids then....
And now!!
The boy in the boat is the bearded young man, the girl in the boat is right in front of him in the photo and the baby in the boat is the young lady in the striped shirt!
In the second photo above features the three girls in the back row.

The kids got lot's of beach time and we adults enjoyed our time together, especially after the kids went to bed!! That summer we saw the most magnificent fireworks show on the 4th at Donner Lake.
This is Maggie, Zac and their cousin Patrick all safety suited up and ready for fun on he lake.

TIME WARP TUESDAY
Time Warp Tuesday again - this is a chance to share family photos and tell our stories. Hosted by Jenn, check out the other participants!
My theme this summer is SUMMER - this is a photo taken in 1989 at the beach. Could be any number of beaches around CA as Tom was an avid windsurfer back then and we were at a beach many weekends during the warm weather. This looks like the beach in Alameda - it also looks like there wasn't much wind!
Maggie and Zac were 2 1/2 that summer - they loved the beach and taking rides on the windsurf board.

TIME WARP TUESDAY
I think I am going to make all my Time Warp Tuesday photos this summer pictures of the kids during summer through the years. Join all of us playing along with Jenn @ Juggling Life or just stop in to see our family photos.
I am going to mix up the time frames - so last week was 2000 and this week is 1996.
We were living in Bellevue, WA then and as soon as school was out I tossed the kids in the car and drove for 2 days to get to the sunshine and warmth of California. Most years to Tahoe where my parents had a vacation home or to Walnut Creek where I grew up and my dear sister Nancy lived. In the photo here we were at the Oakland Zoo which has always been a favorite outing with the kids.

TIME WARP TUESDAY
We are gearing up Time Warp Tuesday again just in time for the summer. Jenn is hosting - check in to see who is posting family photos and telling the stories behind them.
This is a photo of the kids at Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur in 2000. We stayed in a smoky little cabin and I tried to teach the kids how to play Bunco which didn't go well. We brought other games to play because there was no TV where we stayed. The next day we rode horses on the beach

TIME WARP TUESDAY
Tuesday means we are doing the Time Warp - hosted by Jenn at Juggling Life; a chance to show our family photos and tell the stories behind them. Come by and see who is playing this week.
This was taken on our last Spring Break trip in 2001, back in the days when we had much more disposable income! It was also the hey day of Las Vegas promoting itself as a Family Fun Destination - before they gave up on that concept and let the hookers back onto the streets.
We stayed for a couple of days at the old school Caesar's Palace and then 2 more days at the Mandalay Bay where the wave pool and lazy river was big fun, even though it was a bit cool that week. This photo was taken the night we went to New York, New York and rode the rides and played in the arcade.

TIME WARP TUESDAY
Time Warp Tuesday and I am prepared this week! Hosted by Jenn - a chance to show our favorite photos and tell the stories behind them. Check out the other participants here.
It is softball season here. Every time I pass by the sports park and see all the kids there I go back in time. We spent many years on those fields and fields all around the Bay Area with the summer traveling teams.
Zac played baseball for many years, too, until he was diagnosed with Osgood Slaughter disease making his knees too painful to play. Maggie played from first grade (on a Little League team because there was no softball where we lived) until she discovered rowing as a junior in high school. The last year she played the regular season in the league (before playing for her high school) her team came in 3rd in the Western Championships. We got to go to Santa Fe New Mexico for that tournament. Ally played until middle school when she switched to soccer 2 seasons a year.

Tom and I got very into photography during those years and took hundreds of photos which we made into memory books for the girls on the teams.Monday, March 25, 2013
TIME WARP TUESDAY
It's Tuesday again, time for the Time Warp! Join Jenn and others in sharing photos we have around our homes and telling the stories behind them!
These are my parents - Rich and Sally. This Thursday, March 28th will be their 60th Wedding Anniversary!
They were just 19 and in college when they fell in love and got carried away and, well, me. It was 1953 and they did what people did then - they got married. Now I have 4 siblings and they have 14 grandcildren.
They have retired to Palm Desert, play golf a lot and travel around during the hot summer months.

TIME WARP TUESDAY
It is time for Time Warp Tuesday again - hosted by Jenn, we all post photos from our homes and tell the stories behind them! Check in with Jenn to see who is participating this week!
This is a professional photo that I had made as a Father's Day gift for Tom. He loved black & white photos in silver frames - so that is what he got! I had not planned to be on the photo, but the twins were not doing well with the whole process, so I joined in to stop the melt down.

TIME WARP TUESDAY
It's Tuesday again - time for the Time Warp sponsored by Jenn. Each week we post a favorite family photo and tell the story behind it...
I love this picture of my twins taking a nap together because (1) it shows how close they still are as adults and (2) it always reminds me of when I was pregnant with them.

TIME WARP TUESDAYS
This is Time Warp Tuesdays - sponsored by Jenn at Juggling Life! Each week we post a photograph which we display in our home and give the back story. Checkout all the posts at Jenn's.
This is our Hilda. We had to put her to sleep last May shortly after her 14th birthday. I love this photo taken just a couple of months before she died. We took her to the beach. She was usually camera shy but on this occasion she walked right up to the camera and snap - we finally got a great photo.
I miss her very much.

TIME WARP TUESDAYS
Welcome to Time Warp Tuesday sponsored by Jenn at Juggling Life. We are posting pictures we have around our homes and telling the stories behind them.
This week I am posting two pictures. My twins, Maggie and Zac wanted to get tattoos when they turned 18. Then they decided they should wait until they were 19 so they wouldn't be too cliched plus they were still deciding what they wanted to do. It was going to be a twin thing, they knew that. By that time they had been separated by the entire country for 4 months at their colleges and during winter break they got their ink.
They had each other's initials with an "&" placed close to their hearts.
I am not a fan of tattoos, never wanted my kids to get them, but how could I help but be touched by their choice?
Then for Christmas this year, Maggie found this ornament for them to share.

TIME WARP TUESDAY
Today I am posting our only family photo with Santa for Time Warp Tuesday. Check in with Jenn to see who else posted this busy week!
For about 4 years we lived in Bellevue, Washington. My husband worked for a company in Seattle and one of the benefits was that they gave us a membership to The Ranier Club which was housed in a beautiful old building downtown. They had hotel accommodations, a nice restaurant and many social activities. We loved getting dressed up and going with the kids to the family events because they were always so spectacular.
This photo is from the first Christmas Party we went to. I wish I had more photos of that day - they had elves and jugglers and all kinds of entertainment. Tom and I didn't intend to be in the Santa photo but Ally was afraid of him and thus my "death grip" on her during the photo! Of course, now it is one of my favorite family pictures!
